Palak Paneer Recipe (How to Make Palak Paneer at Home)

Palak Paneer Recipe

Palak paneer is a vegetarian dish, consisting of paneer in a thick paste made from puréed spinach, called Palak in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, and other Indian languages. The terms palak paneer and saag paneer are sometimes used interchangeably in restaurants in the United States and Canada.


Ingredients


1. Paneer - 150g
2. Palak Leaves - 100 to120g
3. Onion - 2 Nos
4. Tomato - 2 Nos
5. Garlic - 5 pieces
6. Ginger - 1/2 inch
7. Green Chilly - 4 Nos
8. Coriander Powder - 1 tbsp
9. Red Chilly Powder - 1 tbsp
10. Garam Masala - 1 tbsp
11. Salt - 1 tbsp
12. Fresh Cream - 2 to 3 tbsp
13. Oil - 2 tbsp
14. Small Cinnamon piece
15. Bay leaf
16. Water






Procedure


Step 1:
Boil water for 10min. Add Palak leaves to hot water (without flame) and leave it for 1-2min. Move Palak leaves to cold water to maintain green color of Palak leaves.

Step 2:
Add Palak leaves, Green Chilly, Garlic, Ginger, Water and grind well to get smooth paste.

Step 3:
Add oil, small Cinnamon and Bay leaf to hot pan/Kadhai. Add chopped Onions, chopped tomatoes, Red chilly powder, Coriander powder and Garam masala and stir well. Once it is mixed well, add grinded Palak paste and salt to taste and mix well. Let it boil for 5min. Add Paneer cubes and let it boil for 1-2min. Add fresh cream to taste and Palak Paneer will be ready in next 2-3min.

Tip: Paneer cubes can be fried in butter or ghee before adding to Palak mixture to get little roasted paneer cubes taste. 

Palak Paneer Is Ready To Serve.
